Hercules Lee Roberts was born on November 24, 1943, in Allendale to the late Perstine and Vera Roberts.
Herk, as he was affectionately known, was educated in the public schools of Fairfax. He worked as a truck driver for H.A. Hastings in Hebron, Maryland, Dorchester Lumber in Linkwood, Maryland, and Collum’s Lumber in Allendale. Herk married the love of his life, Betty Ann Stevens, on October 23, 1965.
Herk was peacefully called to his eternal rest on November 9, 2016 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland.
Herk leaves a legacy of love with: his wife of 51 years of love, Betty Ann Roberts of Salisbury, Maryland; three children, Lorenzo (Gwendolyn) Roberts of Columbia, Denise (Travis) Griffin of Greenwood, and Lamont (Kinue Jones) of Salisbury, Maryland; one brother, Larry (Christine) Roberts of Allendale; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was also a father and mentor to many.
Herk was preceded in death by one brother, Jackie Roberts, and one sister, Laurie Roberts of Allendale.
