Vernell Bellamy Frank, 92, a long-time resident of Williston, passed away on Sunday, the 2nd of April at Columbus Hospice Center in Columbus, Ga., due to a stroke following several years of declining health.
Born on August 10, 1924, to the late Jason and Carrie Ballington, Vernell moved to Williston with her husband and children in 1951. A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, she loved all things outdoors. Vernell spent her life serving others with a quiet humility that will always be remembered. She was a dedicated member of the Williston United Methodist Church.
Vernell was predeceased by her husbands, John D. Bellamy, Horace A. Roberts, and Ernest L. Frank. She is survived by: her children, Carolyn (Tommy) Perkins of Columbus, Ga.; Steve (Cindy) Bellamy of Aiken; Barbara (Dave) Marshman and Elaine (Dan) Strawbridge, both of Williston; two siblings, Martha Dreher and J.W. Ballington, both of Columbia; 9 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Williston United Methodist Church on Friday, April 7, 2017. The family will receive visitors beginning at 11 a.m., with the service beginning at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Williston United Methodist Church, 6030 Springfield Road, Williston, SC 29853.
