Lowman Daniel “Danny” Collins, 63, of Barnwell passed away on May 13, 2017 at his home after a strenuous battle with cancer. He was born in Orangeburg on September 18, 1953.
A graduate of Barnwell High School, Danny was a route salesman for over 40 years and retired from Frito-Lay/PepsiCo. As a true outdoorsman, he particularly enjoyed fishing, shrimping and hunting. Always a cut-up, he enjoyed making everyone laugh.
Danny was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Black Collins; mother, Gladys Walters Collins; step mother, Adele Walters Collins, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Francis O’Neal Black and Rose Ella Black; and a sister, Peggy Collins.
Danny is survived by his two daughters, Michelle Collins Baker and Honey Collins (Wes) Wilson; three grandsons, Andrew Garrett Dantzler, Colby Daniel Baker and Jonah Charles Baker; his siblings, Polly Sanders, W.C. (Emily) Collins and Benny (Melanie) Collins; his nieces and nephews and extensive family in the Barnwell, Branchville and Reevesville areas.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the Reedy Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Harry Warren officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening at Mole Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be made in Danny’s memory to Reedy Branch Baptist Church.
