Betty Stanley All, wife of James J. All, died Saturday, July 1, 2017 at her home in Fairfax.
Betty was born in Varnville on October 25, 1950 to the late Harry and Mattie Long Stanley. Betty was the youngest daughter and was often speculated to be the most favorite of Harry and Mattie’s seven children.
She was predeceased in death by her brothers Tony, Billy, Jimmy, Dennis as well as her sister Connie Winn. She is survived by her beautiful sister, Louise Long.
Betty met the love of her life, James All of Fairfax, and married on July 29, 1967. Their marriage was one built on love and commitment and they celebrated each other for nearly 50 years.
Betty was a mother and housewife to Lisa (Scott) Reeder of Murfreesboro, Tenn. and Christina (Cliff) DeRienzo of Lexington. She was the proud grandparent of Lisa’s children, Kristin (Raymond) Shutt, Kyle (Olivia) Reeder, and Kaylan (Heath) Reeder. She was the equally proud grandmother of Christina’s children, Tyler, Emily, Cameron, Cassidy and a host of other foster children that were privileged to call her Meme. She was blessed and proudly shared the fact that she had four beautiful great-grandchildren (Kristin) Cruz, Tatum, Skye, Phoenix, as well as being overjoyed for the new addition to come from Kyle and Olivia.
Throughout her years Betty was known to be the best at practical jokes and had a feisty wit. She loved to dance, fish with James on the Cumbee River, cook delicious southern fare, and shop. She loved to collect angels, compile pictures of her family, craft, sew, take a nice golf cart ride,spend time at her beach house, and find a good bargain. She worked at Davan Manufacturing as a young bride, enjoyed owning a convenience store in Sycamore with James where she never met a stranger, and thoroughly enjoyed all those she met while working at Sycamore Recycle Center.
One of her other greatest treasures was her best friend Linda (JT) Strickland with whom she had the immeasurable gift of over 50 years of friendship.
Betty was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and loved living in the “Bethel Community”. It was in this community that her friends such as Sharon (Lin) Blakeney took the time to care for her and James during her extended illness.
Betty entered into eternal rest with Jesus and her family that had gone before her on July 1, 2017 peacefully surrounded by her husband James and daughters. She had the best medical care around while a patient at MUSC. The family would like to thank Dr. Willner, Dr. Greene, Cephus Simmons, Dr. Boylan, the phenomenal nurses and staff of the Ashely River Tower 6th floor as well as the 3rd Floor ICU staff.
The family will receive friends at Keith Smith Funeral Home (803-584-2492), located at 128 Water Street, Allendale, on Wednesday evening, July 5 from 6-8 p.m. Her funeral service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church (6486 Confederate Highway, Fairfax) on Thursday, July 6 at 11 a.m. with burial in the Bethel Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Bethel Baptist Church (6486 Confederate Highway, Fairfax, S.C. 29827) or to Christina DeRienzo (Midlands Community Missions Team), 105 Letha Lane, Lexington, S.C. 29072 to support bikes and school supplies for foster children in Lexington County.
