Ms. Sarah Ann Brooker, age 66, was born on July 27, 1951, in Allendale, to the late Theodore and Addie G. Brooker.
Seeking God’s direction and guidance, she joined the Sweet Bethel CME Church in Allendale, where she served faithfully until she relocated to Orangeburg.
She was a 1971 graduate of the CV Bing High School in Allendale and later furthered her education at Denmark Tech in Denmark. She worked at JP Stevens and the Allendale Sewing Plant in Allendale for many years, and was also an Avon Sales Rep for many years.
“Sister”, as she was affectionately known, will be remembered for the love she had for her family and friends, and she will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Besides her parents and grandparents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Theodore and Nathaniel Brooker.
Our Heavenly Father called her from labor to reward on August 29, 2017, at the Woodland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fayetteville, N.C.
She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory, one son, Albert Brooker Sr. of Elizabethtown, N.C.; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Addie Mae Brooker of Allendale; two brothers, John (Connie) Brooker of Hardeeville and Mozell (Sharlene) Brooker of Allendale; one aunt, Sarah Lee Brooker of Allendale; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and sympathizing friends.
A Celebration of Life Service was held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 3:30 p.m. at Sweet Bethel CME Church in Allendale with Rev. Frederick Hamilton as eulogist. Pallbearers were Stephon Fogle, Rufus James, and Carl Young Jr. Interment followed at Sweet Bethel CME Church Cemetery in Allendale.
B.F. Cave Funeral Home in Allendale assisted the family with arrangements.
