Mrs. Ernestine Platts Creech, age 66, was born on July 28, 1951, in Allendale to the late Samella Platts.
Seeking God’s direction and guidance, she joined the New Zion Baptist Church in Siegling, and later moved her membership to the Kettering Baptist Church in Upper Marlboro, MD, where she lived.
She graduated from C.V. Bing High School in Allendale and later furthered her education at Prince George’s Community College in Upper Marlboro, MD, where she studied law. She worked as a paralegal for many years before retiring.
Ernestine will be remembered for the love she had for her family and friends, and she will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She was married to her loving and devoted husband, James W. Creech, for 46 years, and in this union, they were blessed with three children.
Besides her parents and grandparents, she is preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Our Heavenly Father called her from labor to reward on September 28, 2017, at the Mandrin Inpatient Care Center in Harwood, MD.
She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory, a loving and devoted husband, James W. Creech of Upper Marlboro, MD; three sons, James F. Creech, Jamar W. Creech, and Jason W. Creech of Upper Marlboro, MD; one honorary son, Ronald Quick of Upper Marlboro, MD; nine sisters, Helen (David) Simmons of Fairfax, Pearlie (Lish) Sabb, Gloria P. Roberts, Anna
Mae (Calvin) Garvin, Jeanette (Leon) Hagood, Henrietta (Rev. Audrey) Lofton, Margaret McMillan, and Laura McMillan, all of Allendale; one honorary sister, Florrie Stewart of Greenlawn, N.Y.; three brothers, Addison (Celia) McMillan of Columbia, Robert McMillan and Melvin (Bertha) McMillan of Allendale; two sisters-in-law, Ronetta Odom of Barnwell, and Frances (James) O’berry of Houston, Texas; one brother-in-law, Mayor William (Rose) Cave of Kline; best friends, Annie Lee Jones, Mamie Lou Morrell, Jackie Adams, Elouise Brantley, Queenie Singleton, Deloris Lingard, and Mildred Bush; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and sympathizing friends.
A Celebration of Life Service was held Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at Happy Home Baptist Church in Allendale with words of comfort provided by Rev. Charles B. Kirkland. The sacred place of rest is the All Cemetery.
B.F. Cave Funeral Home in Allendale assisted the family with arrangements.
