Arnold Anderson (Blackville)

Funeral services for Mr. Arnold Anderson of Blackville were held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at 1 p.m. at the Shrub Branch Baptist Church in Blackville where the Reverend McKinley Neal is the pastor and eulogist and Evangelist Gwendolyn Neal, presiding. Interment followed in the family plot in the church cemetery.

Visitation was held from 12 noon until the hour of service.

Mr. Arnold Anderson, 72, was born on May 4, 1945 to the late Mr. John and Mrs. Fannie Williams Anderson in Brooklyn, N.Y.

At an early age he sought God’s divine guidance and joined the Shrub Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Blackville where he served faithfully on the Usher Ministry. He was educated at the Macedonia High School in Blackville. He was employed with Augusta Fiberglass and Dixie Narco.

“Arnold”, as he was affectionately known, will be remembered for the love he had for his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father John Anderson, his mother Fannie Anderson, and one sister Jessie Faust.

On Wednesday evening, December 27, 2017, Our Heavenly Father summoned him from labor to reward following an extended illness at his residence in Blackville.

Arnold leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted niece, Mrs. Jessie (Freddie) Glover of the home; two brothers: Mr. Calvin Brown of Blackville and Mr. Arthur Anderson of Florida; also included are his nieces, Kenita Anderson of Boston, MA, and April Faust of Blackville; nephew, Derik Anderson of Boston, MA; special cousin, Ms. Dorothy Mayes of Blackville, and a host of additional cousins, other relatives, and sympathizing friends.

Miller’s Funeral Home (136 Kershaw Street SE, Aiken) was in charge of arrangements.
