Earlis Collins - Williston

Funeral services for Earlis Alma Collins, 88, of Williston, will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in the Barnwell Memory Gardens on Reynolds Road.

Mrs. Earlis passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016.

Born in Barnwell County, she was a daughter of the late Nathan Victor Collins and Lee Belle Black Collins. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where she sang in the church choir, taught the Senior Adult Kate Odom Sunday School Class and was the church secretary for a number of years. She worked as a secretary nearly 40 years at the Savannah River Plant.

Survivors include her daughter, Beverly (Frank) Herndon of Graniteville; grandsons, Nicholas (Kelly) Guzman, Adam Herndon, Kevin (Jessica) Herndon; great-grandchildren, Ava C. Guzman, Will Stillinger, Kinley Thomas, Lilly, Maddie, Austin, Blake and Kaylee Herndon; many nieces and nephews of which she was very close. She was preceded in death by a brother, Furman Collins and sisters, Beatrice C. Baxley, Meredith C. Martin, Nina Lee C. Odom, Alberta C. Cole, Mildred C. Slater and Evelyn Collins.
