George Saxon Creech - Barnwell

Mr. George Saxon Creech, age 73, was born in Barnwell on May 17, 1943 to the late Charlie Creech, and the late Sara Mae Priester.

At an early age, he sought God’s direction and guidance, and joined the Second Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Barnwell.

George received his education at the Butler High School in Barnwell. He worked as a Supervisor/Team Leader at Ducane Heating and Cooling for 37 years before retiring.

George was a loving and kind person, and will be remembered for the love he had for his family and friends.

He was married to his loving wife, Hermena Creech, for 26 years.

Besides his parents and grandparents, he is preceded in death by one son, James Creech, and one daughter, Edna Creech.

On Thursday, October 20, 2016, our Heavenly Father called him from labor to reward at the Pruitt Healthcare Center in Barnwell.

George leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Hermena Creech of Barnwell; one daughter, Linda Creech Bush of Barnwell; one son, Rickey Creech of Barnwell; four step-sons, Anthony (Norma) Walker of Denmark, Darius (Natarsha) Walker of Aiken, Alexis Walker of Blackville, and Atari (Kierra) Walker of Columbia; twenty-one grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charlie Creech Jr. of Seattle, WA, and Nathaniel (Eva Nell) Creech of Barnwell; one sister, Doris Green of Barnwell; six sisters-in-law, Janie Mae Walker (Joe Lee Bouncil) of Barnwell, Katherine Rivers, Josephine (Thomas) Patterson, and Verna Mae Gill of Ulmer, Sarah (Freddie) Moore of Fairfax, and Gloria Kelly of Allendale; five brothers-in-law, Willie Walker and Rodney (Dwydella) Walker of Barnwell, Frankie Lee Kelly and Benjamin Breeland of Allendale, and Daniel Breeland of Ulmer, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and sympathizing friends.

The funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at the Second Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Barnwell with words of comfort by Rev. Dr. McArthur Sanders. Burial followed in the Hope Memorial Gardens in Barnwell.

B.F. Cave Funeral Chapel in Allendale assisted the family with arrangements.
