Funeral services for Mr. Carl Allen, 67, of Rincon, Ga., formerly of Martin, were held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Allendale Community Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Wendell Johnson officiating. Burial followed in St. Mary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Carl Allen was born on October 23, 1949 in Manhattan, New York to the late Julius Allen and the late Alzenia Bush Allen. Carl was educated in the Allendale County public schools. He was a member of Jordan Baptist Church and later joined St. Mary Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army and the Allendale County National Guard. He attended Denmark Technical College where he studied plumbing. Carl was a professional truck driver and was employed with Eady Construction Company until his retirement.
He was married to Rosa Allen and to this union four children were born and later married Lillie Gooding.
Carl enjoyed watching football and basketball with his family and friends. He passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017 at Memorial Health Hospital in Savannah, Ga.
He was preceded in death by both parents; and his second wife, Lillie Gooding Allen.
Carl leaves to cherish his fond memories: two sons, Corey Lamarr Allen and Travis Amondo Allen, both of Hallendale, Fla.; three daughters: Carolyn Allen and Jurea Allen, both of Hallendale, Fla., and Meeka Chaszar of Savannah, Ga.; two sisters, Louise Allen of Harlem, NY and Ella Davis of Camden; a special cousin, James Bernard Bush of Augusta, Ga.; and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends.
Allendale Community Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
