Christine Bell Skinner - Elko

Funeral services for Christine Bell Skinner, 86, of Elko, will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 31, 2016 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston with the Reverends Dan Fogle and Ted Still officiating. Burial will follow in the Williston Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday. The family has asked that memorial contributions be made in Christine’s memory to Rosemary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 409, Williston, SC 29853 or The Williston Cemetery Fund P.O. Box 367, Williston, SC 29853.

Christine passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016.

Born in Barnwell County, she was a daughter of the late John Arthur and Corrie Woodward Bell. She was first married to the late Raymond A. Frederick and was the widow of Leroy Skinner. She worked for Goodall Manufacturing Company in Blackville, Bud Berma Sportswear and was a bookkeeper at Schumpert’s Lumber Company. She was a member of Rosemary Baptist Church where she formerly served as president of the WMU and director of the training union department. She was a member of the Golden Age Club and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #75. Christine enjoyed gardening and crocheting. She had a special giving spirit and shared her talents with many who loved her.

Survivors include her daughters, Gloria Smith and her husband Richard of Swansea, Diane Grooms and her husband Michael of Beaufort; grandchildren, Ian Smith and his wife Glenda, Rachel Beach and her husband Roger, Adam Grooms and Bryce, Aaron Grooms and his wife Stasha; great-grandchildren Hailey, Hayden, Leyton, Audrey, Avery, Brooke and Brystol. She was preceded in death by sisters and brothers.
