Robert Earl “Rob” Ayer, 45, of Olar, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017 in the Augusta University Hospital in Augusta, Ga.
Rob was born in Augusta, Georgia on January 21, 1972. He was a son of Arthur Earl Ayer and Mary Willingham Ayer. He was a graduate of Barnwell High School, a member of Olar First Baptist Church, Colston Volunteer Fire Dept. and an employee of Bolen Builders Supply. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and nephew. Rob loved being a fireman, the Warhorses, all animals especially his chickens, family and friends and especially his nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 4 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Olar with Rev. Dale Hutto, Rev. Phillip Renew and Rev. Shawn Hanks officiating. Burial will follow in the Ayer Family Cemetery on the grounds of Rivers Bridge State Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mole Funeral Home of Barnwell. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Colston Volunteer Fire Dept., 10536 Ehrhardt Rd., Ehrhardt, SC 29081.
Survivors include his parents of Olar; brothers, Jeffery and Joey Ayer of Olar; and nephews, Logan and Garrett Ayer.
