Aura Gilma Mole, 73, of Barnwell, passed away June 5, 2017 at Greenwood Self Regional Medical Center.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 10, at 11 am at Dyches Funeral Home chapel, Barnwell. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, June 9 at Dyches Funeral Home, Barnwell.
Aura Gilma Mole was born November 12, 1943 to the late Pedro and Aura Ortiz. She was a member of Barnwell First Baptist Church and the owner of Gilma’s Day Care in Barnwell where she loved taking care of children until her retirement. She loved fishing, camping, shopping and the beach. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by many.
Surviving relatives are one son, Henry Douglas and Michele Kennedy of Barnwell; three daughters, Denise and Dr. Fred Hubbard of Greenwood, Bess and Jess Terrapin of Lexington, Jo and Robert Chavis III of Barnwell; one sister, Victoria Ortiz of Bogota, Colombia; three brothers, Eduardo Ortiz, Miguel Ortiz, Jorge Ortiz, all of Bogota, Colombia; thirteen grandchildren, Casey Kennedy, Ashleigh and Robert Germaux, Jessica Kennedy, Harley Kennedy, Samantha Delgadillo, William and Melissa Hubbard, Joseph Hubbard, Madeline Hubbard, Savannah Terrapin, Hunter Terrapin, Maggie Chavis, Anthony Chavis and Grace Chavis.
She is predeceased by her husbands, Henry Ford Kennedy, Walter Douglas Folk and Edward Mole; one sister, Espenza Ortiz; and one brother, Cesar Ortiz.
Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors or the American Heart Association.
The family has entrusted Dyches Funeral Home and Crematory with arrangements.
