Jimmy Ervan Elkins - Barnwell

Jimmy Ervan Elkins, 77, of Barnwell, went to be with his Lord on Monday, June 5, 2017.

Jimmy was born in Bamberg County on December 5, 1939 and was a son of the late William and Mary Pender Elkins. He was a retired truck driver with Webb Concrete Co. He was a member of Green Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church. He loved to play his guitar and visit with family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the Green Branch Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Henry Chavis and Rev. Christopher Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mole Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Vernette Croft Elkins of Barnwell; sons, Jimmy Dean (Donna) Elkins of Hilda and Greg (Sharon) Elkins of Graniteville; daughters, Tracy (Ricky) Ray and Linda (Kenny) Brown of Barnwell; brothers, Ronald (Marlene) Elkins of Olar, Wayne (Gayle) Elkins of Olar, Douglas (Linda Sue) Elkins of Hampton; sisters, Laurette (Jimmy) Ingram of Sumter, Brenda Sturkie of West Columbia, Christine Still of Barnwell, Lois (Jamie) Sanders of Hampton, and Debbie Elkins of Bamberg; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brother, Frank Elkins and sisters, Genevieve Gunnells and Lina Gene Ulmer.
