In loving memory of William D. "Bill" Hochstetler of Jackson St., Barnwell.
(November 26, 1936 - June 24, 2017)
Born in Wayne County, Ohio, Bill was the oldest child of the late David W. & Anna J. (Miller) Hochstetler. He married Ruby S. Miller of Indiana on September 8, 1960. Moving from Indiana to South Carolina in 1965, Bill & family became founding members of Barnwell Mennonite Church. He was most recently a member of Dayspring Mennonite Church in Salley. All 12 surviving children carry on his legacy of faith in Christ.
Bill was preceded in death by two children: Wilma & William D. Jr. "Billy"; his wife, Ruby; three brothers: Omar, Dwight & Robert; and several grandchildren.
He is survived by his children: Harley (Caroline) of Australia, David (Debra) of Aiken, Vernon (Brenda) of Columbia, Wilbur of Phoenix, AZ, Rosetta (Linford) of Orangeburg, Quincy (Rachel) of Aiken, Nelson (Debbie) of Olar, Mark (Norma) of Denmark, JoAnna of Landisville, PA, Wendell (Eddi) of Aiken, Rachel (Roger) of Richland Center, WI, Lillie (Brian) of Millersburg, Ohio and 40 grandchildren.
Bill's surviving siblings: Catherine (Eli) of Troyer, Fla., Susannah (Albert) Miller of Ohio, Joseph (Ruby) of Indiana, Jacob (Cindy) of MO, John (Vangie) - Texas, David Jr. (Ruth) of Georgia, Sarah Strader of Fla., Rachel (Loren) Troyer of Fla.
Visitation will be at Barnwell Mennonite Church on Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 1-3:30 p.m. Funeral service will be at 4 p.m. followed by burial in the church cemetery. Dinner for all will be served by BMC in the adjacent school building.
