Funeral services for Barbara Ann Brown Croft, 64, of Blackville, will be held 3 p.m., Friday, March 24, 2017 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, with the Reverends Timmy Gunnells and Kenneth Dodson officiating. Burial will be in the Siloam United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at Folk Funeral Home, Williston.

Barbara passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017.

Born in Hampton County, she was a daughter of the late Leroy Brown and Mary Walker Brown. She was a homemaker who enjoyed watching T.V., her computer and enjoyed fishing with Bobby and loved shopping at Dollar General.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Bobby Croft; a daughter, Angelia “Angie” (Randy) Morris; a son, Jeff (Sara) Croft, all of Barnwell; sisters, Cindy Clements, Annie Marie Burchhalter; brother, Otis E. Brown, all of Martinez, Ga.; grandchildren, Rolin (Misty) Morris, Blake Morris, Bryson (Shelby) Morris, Katelyn (Coty) Hunt, Logan Croft, Kelsey Croft; great-grandchildren, Zack and Connor Morris; a special uncle, Joseph Walker; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sherri; and a brother, Roy Brown.

Benjamin Franklin Johnson Sr. - Snelling

Benjamin Franklin (Ben) Johnson Sr., 78, of Snelling, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at University Hospital.

Ben was born in Hampton County on June 21, 1938 and was a son of the late Geddis and Ellen Keefe Johnson. He was a retired E&I mechanic with the Savannah River Site, a member of Calvary Baptist Church and an avid fisherman. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be missed by his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 3 p.m. in Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Dean Deer and Rev. Robert Altman officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnwell County Memorial Cemetery at the airport. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mole Funeral Home.

Survivors include his loving wife, Carolyn Fennell Johnson of Snelling; sons, Benjamin F. (Beverlee) Johnson Jr. of Snelling and Edgar McCoy (Crystal Bodiford) Johnson of Barnwell; brother, Raymond (Debra) Johnson of Barnwell; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Margie J. Cook.

Carl Allen - Rincon, Ga.

Funeral services for Mr. Carl Allen, 67, of Rincon, Ga., formerly of Martin, were held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Allendale Community Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Wendell Johnson officiating. Burial followed in St. Mary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Carl Allen was born on October 23, 1949 in Manhattan, New York to the late Julius Allen and the late Alzenia Bush Allen. Carl was educated in the Allendale County public schools. He was a member of Jordan Baptist Church and later joined St. Mary Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army and the Allendale County National Guard. He attended Denmark Technical College where he studied plumbing. Carl was a professional truck driver and was employed with Eady Construction Company until his retirement.

He was married to Rosa Allen and to this union four children were born and later married Lillie Gooding.

Carl enjoyed watching football and basketball with his family and friends. He passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017 at Memorial Health Hospital in Savannah, Ga.

He was preceded in death by both parents; and his second wife, Lillie Gooding Allen.

Carl leaves to cherish his fond memories: two sons, Corey Lamarr Allen and Travis Amondo Allen, both of Hallendale, Fla.; three daughters: Carolyn Allen and Jurea Allen, both of Hallendale, Fla., and Meeka Chaszar of Savannah, Ga.; two sisters, Louise Allen of Harlem, NY and Ella Davis of Camden; a special cousin, James Bernard Bush of Augusta, Ga.; and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends.

Mary Mauldin Griner - Barnwell

Mary Mauldin Griner, 85, of Barnwell, the wife of the late Benjamin Charlton Griner Sr., passed away on March 24, 2017 in the Palmetto Health Heart Hospital, Columbia.

Mary was born in Stuart, Fla. on November 22, 1931. She was a daughter of the late Wilder Hamilton Mauldin and Mary Dehon Mauldin. She was a graduate of the University of South Carolina, a member of the Cherokee Garden Club, the Daughters of the American Revolution, active member of the Church of the Holy Apostles where she had been a member of the choir and was a partner with her late husband in Barnwell Heating and Cooling Company, Inc. She was an avid bridge player.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Church of the Holy Apostles with Rev. Robert Horn officiating. Burial will follow in the churchyard. The family will receive friends at 2:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Church of the Holy Apostles, P.O. Box 207, Barnwell, SC 29812.

Survivors include a son, Benjamin Charlton “Benji” Griner Jr. (Shelia) of Charleston; daughters, Julie Griner Powers (Robert) of Timmonsville, Sally (Joseph, deceased) Griner Raymond of Irmo, and Angie Griner Dowdy (Sam) of Barnwell; sisters, Harriet Mauldin Morris (Ken) and Helen Mauldin of Columbia; grandchildren, Heath (Shanti) Powers, Lance (Erin) Powers, Tobin (Jason) Moss, Ben (Maggie) Griner, Julian Raymond, Chad (Lauren) Dowdy and Megan (Kurt) Mueller; great-grandchildren, Mary Elaine Powers, Russell Powers, Maggie Powers, Kyla Powers, Kaden Raymond, Drake Mueller, Gage Mueller, Charlie Dowdy and Kate Dowdy. She was predeceased by a sister, Ann Mauldin Carson.

Carolyn C. Dodson - Wagener

Mrs. Carolyn Cooper Dodson, 76, passed away to her new life on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at her home in Wagener.

Mrs. Dodson was known to many young and old as MeMa Carolyn. Through a life of Christian Ministry she touched the lives of many as she served her community as a Christian and as chief supporter to her husband as they pastored the churches entrusted to their care through nearly forty years of Christian Ministry. She also worked outside the home at Wagener Manufacturing Company, C.E. Tyler’s Red and White, Busbee Elementary School, Wagener, Barnwell County Council, Barnwell, Ducane Corp., Blackville; and Christ Central Ministries, Wagener. Her passion and favorite hobby was working in her flower garden and yards around her Wagener home. She was also a member of the Wagener Garden Club.

She is survived by her loving husband of nearly sixty years, Leroy Dodson; three children: Andreina G. (David) Angle, Bryan L. (Sarah) Dodson, Wagener; and Kenneth E. (Lynn) Dodson, Barnwell; one sister, Martha C. (Watson) Kyzer, Murpeesboro, TN; two brothers, Gene (Fran) Cooper, West Columbia, and special brother, Mike (Sharlene) Cooper, Lexington; sisters-in-law, Mae Cooper, Wagener, and Ruby Cooper, Batesburg; six grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased in death by her parents, Felder and Rosa Cooper; and six brothers, Arnold, Phillip, Gerald, Wyman, Bill, and Hugh Cooper.

Services were Monday, March 27, 2017 at the First Baptist Church, Wagener, at 3 p.m. with visitation following. Committal service will be private.

Funeral services for Andrew Bradford Hutto, 24, of Williston, will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, March 30, 2017 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, with the Reverend Steve Mattier officiating. Burial will be at the Williston Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.

Andrew passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017.

Born in Aiken County, he was a son of Carla Russell Hutto and Olin Bradford Hutto. He attended Calvary Chapel Fellowship in Williston and was in welding school. He had a love for playing classical piano music. Andrew will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his parents, Carla Hutto and Brad (Christina) Hutto; brothers, Matthew Taylor (Sarrah) Hutto, Evan Michael Hutto, both of Williston, Haydn Ulric Hutto of Batesburg; maternal grandparents, Jerry and Patricia Flint; paternal grandparents, Marilyn Hutto and the late Olin Evans Hutto; great-grandparents, Elsie Catoe and the late Paul Catoe, Hazel Eagerton and the late Haywood Eagerton; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and other family members.

George Still - Barnwell

George Still, 81, went to be with his Lord on Monday, March 27, 2017 in the Providence Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

George was born on February 17, 1936 in Barnwell County. He was a son of the late Wash and Bertie Croft Still. He retired from Milliken Inc. with 34 years’ service and was a farmer. He was a member of Mount Lebanon Christian Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2017 at Mount Lebanon Christian Church with Rev. Ron Franklin, Rev. Wayne Bodiford and Rev. Jeffery Ray officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Mole Funeral Home.

Survivors include his loving wife, Mary Ann Ray Still of Barnwell; daughter, Joyce Still Gunnells (John) of Barnwell; sons, Gregg Still and Wyman Still of Barnwell; sister, Helen Still Hutto of Blackville; brothers, Jackie Baxley (Betty Jean) and Julian Baxley (Linda) of Barnwell; grandchildren, Amber Gunnells Magee (Charles) and Bradley Gunnells. Gloria B. Cooley - Blackville

Gloria Morris Boylston Cooley, 93, formerly of Blackville, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 in Savannah, Ga.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Friday, March 31, 2017 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston with the Reverends Blake Boylston and Dr. Thomas Terry officiating. Burial will be in the Blackville Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday.

Born in Olar, she was a daughter of the late Furman Morris and Edna Sanders Morris. She worked for many years in the family's Western Auto store in Allendale. Gloria was united in marriage to Jack Clifton Boylston Sr. and had five children. After the death of Jack, she was united in marriage to Allen Brooks Cooley Jr. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved dancing, fashion, and Tybee Beach. Gloria was a member of Blackville First Baptist Church and later Williston United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her children, Carol Kilpatrick, Brenda Youmans, David (Jerina) Boylston, Jack (Nancy) Boylston Jr., all of Savannah, Ga.; Mary Julia (Steve) Roberts of Tallahassee, Fla.; grandchildren, Barry (Allison) Bodiford, Lauren (Adam) Delk, Hunter Youmans II, Blake (Julie) Boylston, Tyler (Cailey) Boylston, Jessica (Thibaut) Boylston-Fagonde, Ryan (Stacey) Buckley, Sean (Kaylin) Buckley, Bray (Savanna) Buckley, Laura Roberts; fourteen great-grandchildren; sister, Winifred Mangan of Columbia; and caregiver, Beatrix Colley of Savannah, Ga. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Cooley Jr., and her first husband, Jack C. Boylston Sr.; son, Terry Boylston; brothers, Franklin Morris and Irvin Morris; sisters, Myrtice Robinson and Louise Cave.

Chuck Cochran Jr. - Allendale

Chuck Edward Cochran Jr., 33, son of Chuck and Sheila Cochran, died Sunday, March 26, 2017.

Mr. Cochran was a native of Allendale and a United States Marine Corps Veteran, having served in Iraq with the 1st. Marine Division 3rd LAR (THE WOLF PACK). He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a B.A. Degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice. He was a member of the Local 150 Pipefitters Union. Chuck also volunteered as a Guardian Ad Litem.

Funeral services with Military Honors will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2017 in Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort.

Family members include his parents, Chuck and Sheila Cochran; one daughter, Lillyana Sophia Cochran and her mother Kayla B. Cochran; one sister, Amanda Cochran Boyles; nephew and nieces, Brooks, Jaylynn, & Brooklynn; maternal grandmother, Toby W. Googe; paternal grandmother, Faye M. Cochran; aunts and uncles, Kim and Sandra Cochran and Marc and Stephanie Cochran and many cousins.

Vernell Bellamy Frank - Williston

Vernell Bellamy Frank, 92, a long-time resident of Williston, passed away on Sunday, the 2nd of April at Columbus Hospice Center in Columbus, Ga., due to a stroke following several years of declining health.

Born on August 10, 1924, to the late Jason and Carrie Ballington, Vernell moved to Williston with her husband and children in 1951. A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, she loved all things outdoors. Vernell spent her life serving others with a quiet humility that will always be remembered. She was a dedicated member of the Williston United Methodist Church. 

Vernell was predeceased by her husbands, John D. Bellamy, Horace A. Roberts, and Ernest L. Frank. She is survived by: her children, Carolyn (Tommy) Perkins of Columbus, Ga.; Steve (Cindy) Bellamy of Aiken; Barbara (Dave) Marshman and Elaine (Dan) Strawbridge, both of Williston; two siblings, Martha Dreher and J.W. Ballington, both of Columbia; 9 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Williston United Methodist Church on Friday, April 7, 2017.  The family will receive visitors beginning at 11 a.m., with the service beginning at 12 noon.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Williston United Methodist Church, 6030 Springfield Road, Williston, SC 29853.

Louise Berry - Fountain Inn

Louise Berry, 87, of Fountain Inn, wife of Rev. Wingard Berry for 72 years, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 23, 2017.

Born in Union, she was a daughter of the late John Stutts and the late Janie Brandon Stutts.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Berry is survived by her sons, Michael Berry, and his wife, Rebecca W., of Fountain Inn, and David Berry and his wife, Joan, of Blackville; grandchildren, M. Blake Berry (Emily) of Pendleton, Whitney R. Berry of Fountain Inn, Dave Joseph Berry (Tara) of Blackville, and Brandon Mark Berry also of Blackville; great-grandchildren, Harper and Hartley Berry; two brothers, Lewis Stutts and Barry Stutts; and two sisters, Helen Corley and Jane Armstrong.

The family received friends on Saturday, March 25 at 1 p.m. at Cannon Funeral Home in Fountain Inn.

A Graveside Service followed at 2 p.m. in Cannon Memorial Park.

Funeral services for Mary Lou Deirdure “Dee Dee” Bruner, 45, of Williston, will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 5, 2017 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, with the Reverends Wendell Bruner, Larry McKee and Charles Bruner officiating. Dee Dee passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017.

Born in Orangeburg County, she was a daughter of Brenda Faye McKee Bruner and the late Eddie Bruner Jr. She was a member of the Williston Church of God. She enjoyed playing piano, listening to Southern Gospel Music; bowling and had a passion for talking to people about the Lord.

In addition to her mother, survivors include her brothers, Eddie Bruner III, William “Michael” Bruner, Wendell Bruner and his wife Jodi; a niece, Natalee Grace Bruner and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Reverend William A. McKee and Mary Martha Gillispie McKee and paternal grandparents, Eddie Bruner Sr. and Hazel Lou Parker Bruner.

Roberta Darnell Gillam - Ehrhardt

Roberta Darnell Gillam, 64, of Ehrhardt, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at her home, surrounded by family.

Funeral service will be held at Ghents Branch Baptist Church, Wednesday, April 5 at 2 p.m. with Rev. H. B. “ Sunny “Mooney and Rev. Bert Petty officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dyches Funeral Home and Crematory, Barnwell.

She was the daughter of B. T. and Clara Darnell of Denmark. She was a homemaker and a member of Ghents Branch Baptist Church. She played an active role with the WMU, church choir, youth leader, played softball and served on other committees of the church. Her mission in life was to teach and care for her special gift from God, Allan. She had a love and passion for gardening and making sure there never were any weeds in sight.

She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt, sister-in-law and a friend to all. She was a loving mother and grandmother and she will be missed by many.

Roberta is survived by her husband of 44 years, Harry Gillam; one son, Allan Gillam of the home and one daughter, Lisa (Quinton) McCaw of Aiken; grandchildren, Sydney Glover, Brooklyn Glover, Colby McCaw and Blakeley McCaw; sisters, Clara Mae Darnell of Hilda and Brenda Darnell of Denmark.

Memorials in her honor may be made to Ghents Branch Baptist Church building fund and Georgia Regents ALS Clinic.

Martha Dare Thompson - Barnwell

Martha Dare Thompson, 74, of Barnwell, passed away Monday morning, April 3, 2017 in Greer in the arms of her loving family.

She was predeceased by her siblings: Mary, Lafayette, Russell, Harry, and Larry Satterthwaite, Emily Brown, and Dinah Creed. She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Terry Daniel Thompson of Barnwell; her daughter, Wanda Thompson (Russell); her sisters, Louise Boles (Jim), Sarah Ulloth (Dana), Gloria Radke, Betty Klug (Russell); her brothers, Asa (Darlene) and Wilton (Sheila) Satterthwaite.

Martha enjoyed painting and loved sharing her beautiful work with others, and raising her beloved Pekingese. Martha was a beacon of light for all those that came to know her, and she brought smiles to many because of the genuine caring person she was. Her wit and her sense of humor will be remembered by all.

Services will be held on Sunday, April 9 at 2:30 p.m. at the Seven Pines Baptist Church in Snelling. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to ADRA (Adventist Development and Relief Agency) or the American Cancer Society.

Horace 'Al' Allen Jr. - Summerfield, Fla.

Horace F. “Al” Allen Jr. passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at his home in Summerfield, Florida.

Al was born in Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island, New York, on November 28, 1924 to Horace F. Allen Sr. and Grace Reppenhagen.

Less than six weeks after his 17th birthday, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served in the South Pacific for the duration of World War II earning two Purple Hearts. Right after the war, Al married Patricia “Peggy” Gorman on January 10, 1946. She passed away on March 3, 2010.

Al lived in New York, Maine, Vermont and finally Florida. He retired from Lowe’s in 2012 but worked mainly in the automotive industry his entire life.

From this first marriage, Al leaves a daughter, Jayne Allen of Barnwell; four grandchildren, Tricia Allen Gordon of Blackville, Cecilia Allen Peeples (Jack) of Williston, Mimi Violette (Ben) and Alaina McCay (BJ); and six great-grandchildren, Nate, Joshua and Austin Gordon, Jesse and Lillie Allen, and Viggo Violette Sasson.

Al married his second wife Evelyn on November 12, 2011. He also leaves behind three step children, eight step grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Community United Methodist Church in Fruitland Park, Florida on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10 a.m. Interment will be at a later date at Quantico National Cemetery in the Fourth Marine Division section, Quantico, Va. with full military honors


Charlotte Spence Baxley - Barnwell

On April 2, 2017, heaven gained a new resident after Charlotte Spence Baxley lost her battle with Parkinson’s. She reaped her joy from helping others as anyone who knew her could attest.

The family appreciates the things that her friends have done for them and feel greatly blessed by their acts of kindness and visits. Also, Halcyon Hospice for their wonderful care and support.

No formal service will be held until her ashes are scattered at Edisto Beach. The family will gather at that time and share their memories of her and say their goodbyes in their own way.

She was the daughter of the late J.F. and Edith Bywaters Spence. She is survived by her spouse of 55 years, Kenny Baxley; daughters, Lisa B. Gleaton, Suzanne B. Still, and Kimberly (Gene) Fickling; grandchildren: Tyler Gleaton, Ridge Gleaton, Aubree Still, Turner Ashby Fickling, Cade Still, and Jeb Fickling; great-granddaughter: Beckleigh Still; sister: Rita S. (Eddie) Haskins; and brother, Dennis (Teresa) Spence.

Funeral services for Mrs. Henri Mae Grant, 64, of 364 Byrnes Street, Allendale, will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the St. Mark Baptist Church of Allendale where Rev. Daniel Latimer (Pastor – Presider), Rev. Christopher Holley (Eulogist), and Rev. William H. Burison (Her Pastor), will all officiate. Entombment will follow in the family plot at the Ervington Baptist Church Cemetery of Allendale.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

On May 16, 1952, a 6 lb. 4oz. baby girl, Henri Mae Robinson, was born to Mrs. Maggie Lee Allen Robinson and the late Mr. John Henry Robinson in Allendale. She was the youngest of six siblings and was spoiled by each of them.

Henri Mae Robinson received her early Christian upbringings at the Ervington Baptist Church. She graduated from C. V. Bing High School in 1970 where she was Ms. C. V. Bing.

Henri Mae began her employment of 5 years with Westpoint Industries of Ulmer. Following that she decided to further her education receiving her Associate of Science degree from the University of South Carolina – Salkehatchie and completed studies toward a bachelor’s degree. She was later employed by the Town of Allendale for 16 years where she served as tax collector, water clerk, payroll clerk, and administrative assistant.

She was elected as Allendale County Auditor after a run-off election and had no other opposition since. Her campaign slogan was, “Organize, Organize, Organize”. Thanks to Wilbur Cave, Edna Capers, and Elouise Brantley, their hard work and dedication paid off. On July 1, 1995, she began her duties as Auditor and served faithfully until her demise. She was also part owner and devoted team member of the Heritage Funeral Home of Allendale, Inc.

She was united in holy matrimony to her high school sweetheart, Mr. James Henry Grant, on August 29, 1969. To this beloved union came three daughters: Gail, Tracy, and Jennifer.

Henri Mae fulfilled her civic duties in various capacities including: Vice President of Allendale County Alive Board of Directors, Vice President of Salkehatchie Neighborhood Association, Les Dames Club, as well as countless others. She also organized the Ms. Allendale County Black Pageant.

Henri Mae loved life and lived it to the fullest. She had so many people in her life. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, sister-in-law, godmother, neighbor and friend.

On Monday evening, April 3, 2017 surrounded by her loving family, Mrs. Henri Mae Grant made her eternal transition in Glory with her Lord following an extended illness.

Her fond memories will forever be cherished by her parents: Mrs. Maggie Lee Allen Robinson and the late John Henry Robinson; her children: Gail (Robert), Tracy (Calvin), Jennifer (Reggie); siblings: Johnnie Mae Stallings, the late James Devon Robinson, Harry (Mary Jane) Robinson, Vermell Davis, William (Donella) Robinson, and Diane (William) Holmes who was reared as a sister; grandchildren: Ashley, Mia, Morgan, and Brandon; special friend: Marion Roberts; an uncle: Andrew (Lorraine) Moore of Aiken; aunts: Henrietta Doe, Allendale, and Lena Mae Mixson, Rochester, NY; great aunt: Evelena Gray of Allendale; god children: Mark Lotts, Latyona Mance, Angela Doe Youmans, Audrea Williams, Crystal Isham, Tyriana Hartzog, Jameka and Jamaica Mole, Bryan Johnson, Jasmine Price, and Kenny LaCarter; best friends: Jacqueline Adams and Deloris Lingard; along with a host of nieces, nephews (whom she reared as her own), cousins other relatives and sorrowing friends.

Grace Barnes - Williston

Grace Traylor (Winn) Barnes of Williston entered into rest on April 7, 2017.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the Folk Funeral Home chapel, Williston with Dr. Beth Yarborough and Reverend Edgar Foster officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral at 2 p.m. with interment following at the Williston Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Williston Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 391, Williston, SC 29853.

Pallbearers will be Roger Winn Jr., Tedmond Melton, Tommy Burton, James Hewitt, Norman Duncan, and James New.

Born on May 5, 1927 in Shelton, Grace was the daughter of the late Thomas Cleveland Traylor and Fannie Louise (Feaster) Traylor. She was an active member of the Williston Presbyterian Church for 41 years, serving as a Church Elder, a member of the Music and Worship Committee, and President of Presbyterian Women. Mrs. Barnes was a licensed cosmetologist, graduating from the Columbia School of Beauty, retiring as a school aide from the South Carolina School System in 1992. She graduated from Monticello High School, Class of 1944, where she served as team captain of the girls basketball team.

During her high school years, classmates selected Grace as an outstanding athlete, naming her the “spark plug” of the Girls basketball team. She was known to have a smile for everyone and friends by the dozens. Grace enjoyed serving others whether it be family, friends, or anyone she encountered in life. She was known for her energetic work ethic, unending generosity, and love for the Lord, church, and family. Grace received the most joy from being a mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, cooking, and completing household tasks in excellence. Grace was known as “Nannie” to all.

Grace is survived by her son, Roger Kenneth Winn (Debbie) of Lexington, and a daughter, Susan Winn Ridgeway (David) of Aiken; a grandson, Roger Kenneth Winn Jr. (Bess) of Columbia; and three granddaughters, Laura Elizabeth Winn of Lexington; Ashley Elizabeth Ridgeway of Aiken; and Jessica Brooke R. Melton (Tedmond) of Aiken; one great-grandson, Walker James Winn; one sister, Betty Knotts of Williston and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition, Grace was predeceased by her husbands, Roger E. Winn and Raymond L. Barnes; two brothers, Thomas H. Traylor and Donald E. Traylor; and three sisters, Emily Cooper of Columbia, Mary Alice Stevenson of Union, and Wilma Duncan of Flat Rock, N.C.

Patricia Reder Morris - Snelling

Patricia Reder Morris, 79, of Snelling, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Augusta University Medical Center.

Pat was born in Barberton, Ohio on March 13, 1938. She was a daughter of the late George and Mona McCafferity Reder. She was a homemaker and a member of Seven Pines Baptist Church. She was a loving wife and mother and “Nana” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the Seven Pines Baptist Church with Pastors Mark Watford and Billy Mew officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mole Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the Snelling Fire Department, 925 Moore Dr., Barnwell, SC 29812.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby Morris of Snelling; son, Neal (Rita) Morris of Snelling; daughters, Janet (Tommy) Creighton of Snelling and Carol (James) Carroll of Barnwell; sisters, Marie Sexton, Jeanette (Kenny) Speedy and Cathy Speedy; grandchildren, Monica (John) Brewer, Heather (Mike) Still, Thomas (Angela) Creighton, Ryan Morris, Tyler Morris and Shane (Chelsea) Carroll; five great-grandchildren.

Tim Musen - Barnwell

William Timothy “Tim” Musen, 58, of Barnwell, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Aiken Regional Medical Center following a long illness.

There will be a private family service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Tim’s memory to the Blackville Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 365, Blackville, SC 29817.

The family would like to thank Pruitt Health of Barnwell and Aiken Regional Medical Center for all of the care and concern that they have shown to their brother.

Born in Barnwell, he was the son of the late Harold Louis Musen and Carolyn Dubin Musen. He is survived by his sisters, Susan (Ray) Knight, Karen (Norman) Fox, Patricia (Scott) Elliott and his nieces and nephews.
