Ralph Dean 'Jacky' Meyer Jr. - Barton

Ralph Dean “Jacky” Meyer Jr., 74, husband of Dray Robertson Meyer, died Monday, November 7, 2016.

Mr. Meyer was a native of Allendale and a son of the late Ralph Dean “Jack” and Jenna Mae Mason Meyer. He was a retired painter and a member of Mt. Arnon Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed time spent with his special friend, his dog “Rudy”.

Graveside funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Hamilton Cemetery, Hampton, with the Rev. Mike Reed officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.

Survivors include his wife, Dray R. Meyer; two sons, Jacky Meyer (Angela) and Bucky Meyer (Kim); three grandchildren, Caroline Meyer, William Meyer and Savannah Meyer; one sister, Audrey M. Meredith (Terry); one sister-in-law, Myrtle W. Meyer; and numerous nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, R.C. Meyer.

Carolyn Hutto Lovett, “Nana” to many, 71, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016 in Aiken.

Carolyn was affectionately known for her brutally honest humor and her unending dedication to family, friends, and shopping. A beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother, she was also a devoted animal lover who treasured her Chihuahua, "Princess". Carolyn devoted the vast majority of her life to her child care business, Tender Loving Daycare, lovingly becoming a second mother/Nana to countless numbers of children over three decades. Nana will be sadly and sorely missed by many and forgotten by few.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her father, Horry Luther Hutto; mother, Kathryn Miles Hutto; sister, Sylvian Hutto Baxley; and “Princess”. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Hair Holsenback and Sheila Fulmer of Aiken; former husband, Ray Lovett of Aiken; grandsons, Brandon Fulmer of Aiken, Matt (Laura) Fulmer of Evans, Ga.; a granddaughter, Nicole Woodcock Robinson of Manchester, UK; two great-grandchildren, Madeline and Maddox “Dougie” Fulmer of Evans, Ga.; brothers, Jack (Dorothy) Hutto of Aiken, Terry (Jean) Hutto of Anderson, Dennis (Chris) Hutto of Barnwell; and a sister, Betty (Jimmy) Edwards of Blackville.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Woodside Plantation Country Club, 1000 Woodside Plantation Dr., Aiken on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make time to be a positive influence on a child. Faye Bodiford - Williston

A memorial service for Faye Whaley Williams Bodiford, 73, of Williston, will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, November 12, 2016 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, with the Reverend Ted Still officiating. Burial will be in the Long Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Faye passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2016.

Born in Aiken County, she was a daughter of the late Hugh Whaley and Margie Williams Whaley and was the widow of Frank L. Bodiford. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church; she was secretary and co-owner of Bodiford’s Backhoe Service. Faye enjoyed watching hummingbirds and spending time with her family.

Survivors include a daughter, Sheila B. (Allan) Palmer of Williston; a son, Kenneth (Lisa) Williams of Windsor; sister, Elizabeth Hinshaw of Branchville; her favorite “‘talking buddy” and brother-in-law, Wyman McCaw; special sister-in-law, Cathy Whaley; daughter-in-law, Karen Williams; grandchildren, Allison Palmer, Angela (Andrew) Wood, Ronnie Palmer, Jonathan Williams, Justin Williams, Christopher Cooper, Brittany “Bones” Cooper, ten great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, William A. “Billy” Williams; sister, Louise W. McCaw; brothers, Billy Whaley and Kenneth Whaley.

David Roberts - Allendale County

David Roberts was born in Allendale County on April 17, 1954 to Susie Roberts Williams and the late Thomas Williams. He was the first of four children.

David was educated in the public schools of Allendale County.

At an early age, he joined the Beulah Baptist Church in Beldoc. In 1971, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served for three years.

He had a number of jobs in his lifetime, but was well known for his carpentry work.

David was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend who loved his family and friends. He greeted everyone with a smile and a hello, how are you doing. He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

David was married to Martha Roberts. To this union, three children were born, Sonjya, Yulanda and David Jr. For the past 20 years, he had a close companion, Ms. Jannie Lee Roberts of Estill, and six step children: Olymeia, Renata, Kevin, Tosha and Januay’.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Susie Roberts Williams; children, William Dunbar of Allendale, Sonjya Roberts and Yulanda Roberts of Barnwell, David (Sherika) Roberts Jr. of Barnwell, Quincy Harris of Allendale, Derriqk (Stephanie) Roberts of Lawrenceville, Ga., Ronnie (Krystina) Nelson, Jessica Roberts of Philadelphia, Pa., Pam Roberts of Philadelphia, Pa.; two sisters, Barbara Priester of North Augusta and Debbie (Roy) Walker of Beldoc; one brother, Willie Priester of Lancaster, Calif. He also leaves behind seven nieces, five nephews, three grand nephews, two grand nieces, a very special caring and devoted friend, Mr. Duncan (aka “Catfish”) and a host of other relatives and friends.

A homegoing celebration was held on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Church in Beldoc with Rev. Pamela Richards as the eulogist. Interment followed at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery with repast held at the home of Roberts’ mother, Mrs. Susie Williams.

Deedie Birt - Williston

Funeral services for Deedie Argoe Birt, 83, of Williston, will be held 3 p.m., Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Long Branch Baptist Church with Reverends Bert Baynham and Jerry Fail officiating. Deedie passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016.

Born in Lexington County, she was a daughter of the late Henry E. Argoe and Mary Gardner Argoe. She was a homemaker, married to the late William Clifton Birt. Deedie was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church for more than 63 years; she was a member of the Faithful Works Sunday school class, formerly served as the church pianist, was church treasurer, a Sunday school teacher, director of the W.M.U., and served on various other committees within the church.

Survivors include her son, William Michael (Wanda) Birt of Williston; daughters, Peggy B. (Bill) Dicks of N. Augusta, Diane B. (Emory) Bodiford of Williston, Cindy B. (Mike) Smith of Aiken and Jennifer B. (Joey) King of Williston; six grandchildren; Lenny Birt, Jessica Birt, Taylor Smith, Allison Claire Smith, Sam Grubbs and Will Grubbs. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael E. Smith Jr.; and sisters, Carolyn A. Bridgman and Evelyn A. Jordan.

George Saxon Creech - Barnwell

Mr. George Saxon Creech, age 73, was born in Barnwell on May 17, 1943 to the late Charlie Creech, and the late Sara Mae Priester.

At an early age, he sought God’s direction and guidance, and joined the Second Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Barnwell.

George received his education at the Butler High School in Barnwell. He worked as a Supervisor/Team Leader at Ducane Heating and Cooling for 37 years before retiring.

George was a loving and kind person, and will be remembered for the love he had for his family and friends.

He was married to his loving wife, Hermena Creech, for 26 years.

Besides his parents and grandparents, he is preceded in death by one son, James Creech, and one daughter, Edna Creech.

On Thursday, October 20, 2016, our Heavenly Father called him from labor to reward at the Pruitt Healthcare Center in Barnwell.

George leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Hermena Creech of Barnwell; one daughter, Linda Creech Bush of Barnwell; one son, Rickey Creech of Barnwell; four step-sons, Anthony (Norma) Walker of Denmark, Darius (Natarsha) Walker of Aiken, Alexis Walker of Blackville, and Atari (Kierra) Walker of Columbia; twenty-one grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charlie Creech Jr. of Seattle, WA, and Nathaniel (Eva Nell) Creech of Barnwell; one sister, Doris Green of Barnwell; six sisters-in-law, Janie Mae Walker (Joe Lee Bouncil) of Barnwell, Katherine Rivers, Josephine (Thomas) Patterson, and Verna Mae Gill of Ulmer, Sarah (Freddie) Moore of Fairfax, and Gloria Kelly of Allendale; five brothers-in-law, Willie Walker and Rodney (Dwydella) Walker of Barnwell, Frankie Lee Kelly and Benjamin Breeland of Allendale, and Daniel Breeland of Ulmer, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and sympathizing friends.

The funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at the Second Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Barnwell with words of comfort by Rev. Dr. McArthur Sanders. Burial followed in the Hope Memorial Gardens in Barnwell.

Eleaise D. Neals - Barnwell

Mrs. Eleaise D. Neals, age 93, of Barnwell, was born on March 13, 1923 to the late John Drummond, and the late Dianna Gifford Drummond.

At an early age she joined and was baptized at the St. Mary Baptist Church in Martin where she served as Past President of the Senior Choir and Usher. She was a faithful member of the Pride of Barnwell OES #77, where she served as chaplain for many years before her health began to fail.

She received her education at the St. Mary School in Martin.

She was married to the late Lindsey Neal Sr. for 42 years before the Lord called him home.

Besides her husband, parents, and grandparents, two children, Lindsey Neal Jr. and Bertha Ruth Neal; three brothers, James, Jimmy, and John Henry Drummond; and four sisters, Desarlene Neal, Carrie Parker, Willie Maude O'Neal, and Shirley Weaver preceded her in death.

Our Heavenly Father called her from labor to reward on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Laurel Baye Healthcare Center in Blackville.

Robinson (Shawn Wheeler) of Aiken; twenty-seven grandchildren; thirty-nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grands; six step grandchildren; one sister, Ernestine D. Crawford of Miami Garden, FL; one god-brother, Pierce “Pete” A. Gibson of Barnwell; two sisters-in-law, Alma G. Drummond of Hallandale, FL and Dorothy W. Nelson Dyches, 66, of Barnwell, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016 at his home.

Born in Barnwell County on December 27, 1949, he was a son of the late Vonell and Margorie Still Dyches. He was a retired painter.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2016 in the Mole Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Carroll and Rev. David Flanders officiating. Burial will follow in the Double Pond Baptist Church. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine Jones Dyches of Barnwell; son, Nelson Dyches of Oregon, step sons, Drew (Jodi) Carroll of Folly Beach, Randy Carroll of Orange, N.J., and Doug (Laura) Carroll of Greer; daughter, Jenny Dyches of California, step daughter, Jackie Middleton of Barnwell; brothers, James (Joy) Dyches of Salley, and Jacky Dyches of Hilda; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Dyches of Hilda; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild, along with several nieces and nephews. James Richards Grubbs Jr. - Grand Bay, Alabama

James Richard Grubbs Jr. passed away on Sept. 26, 2016 in Grand Bay, Ala., following an extended illness. He is survived there by his wife, Kara, and step-children, Gabriella ("Gabby") and Cody Grissett. It was Richard's desire that his remains be donated to science for cancer research and this was done following his death.

Born November 25, 1950, Richard was the older of two sons born to Mary Alice Ford Grubbs, and James Richard Grubbs Sr.

He is predeceased by his parents, and both Ford and Grubbs' grandparents. Richard made his home most of his

life in the Estill, Allendale and Barnwell areas of South Carolina. He is survived here by his sons, James Richard (Rick) Grubbs III and Joseph D. (J.D.) Grubbs (Carson); his grandson, James William ("Will")Grubbs; a brother, Stevie V. Grubbs (Virginia); an uncle, Tommy B. Grubbs (Bonnie); two nephews, Stevie and Todd Grubbs (Jodi); along with grand nieces and nephews and a number of cousins.

Richard was an avid sportsman with bow, long rifle, muzzle loader and often won prizes for his marksmanship and expertise.

He was especially fond of hunting with his grandson Will, with Will being his "guide." Richard's love of the hunt was that of

turkey hunting. He was a Life Member of The National Wild Turkey Federation and held the 1982 World Record and tied for the 1987 World Record for the Eastern Wild Turkey. He was steadfast with teaching hunting skills and ethics to the younger generations around him.

There will be a family ceremony at Beech Branch Baptist Church cemetery on Richard's birthday to commemorate his life and family's love for him.

Russell 'Buck' Hastedt - Barnwell

Russell A. (Buck) Hastedt, 81, of Barnwell, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 in the University Hospital, Augusta, Ga.

Born in Bellaire, TX on January 22, 1935 he was the son of the late Walter F. and Mamie Boessling Hastedt. Buck was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and retired supervisor with Shuron Inc. He was an avid square dancer and square dance caller who called for clubs all over South Carolina and Georgia. He was a devoted Clemson Tiger fan and a member of IPTAY. Buck was an ardent golfer who played golf well into his 70s. He was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church. The family requests that memorials be made to St. Andrews Catholic Church, 168 Madison St., Barnwell, SC 29812 or to Animal Advocates, 10975 Marlboro Ave., Barnwell, SC 29812.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, 2016 at St. Andrews Catholic Church. Visitation will be held at Mole Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Machos Hastedt of Barnwell; daughter, Cynthia (Matthew) Williams of Swansea; sisters, Mary H. (Numa) Handy of Huntsville, TX. and Dorothy H. Beyer of Houston, TX.; grandson, Evan Williams of Greenville, N.Y.

FC3 Evan T. Williams - Orangeburg

FC3 Evan Travor Williams, 22, of Orangeburg, died Monday, November 7, 2016 in King George, Va.

He was stationed at Dahlgren Naval Station, Dahlgren, Va. Evan attended school locally at Calhoun Academy through the 8th grade and made many lasting friendships. After high school he moved to Pensacola, Fla. where he worked diligently to acquire admission into the Navy as he had several hurdles to overcome based on prior injuries he had sustained playing sports. His hard work to gain admission spoke well for him. In December of 2015, he graduated from Naval Basic Training at Great Lakes Training North Chicago, Illinois, U.S.

In the Navy, Evan met and immediately fell in love with Emily Hahn. They married in the early summer of 2016. As newlyweds they traveled to Las Vegas, and then cross country to visit his family in St. Matthews before moving to Virginia.

Evan was always known as a polite and kind young man. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing on his grandfather’s farm. He enjoyed a variety of music and movies, gaming, and good food. He had a fondness for animals and was devoted to his friends. He was a young man easy to love. He feared little and embraced adventure. These things all tell of a young man, with yet much to give and live. Even though he departed an earthly life much too soon, he left many memories, and lessons that will forever be cherished by those who loved him.

Among those are his survivors, who include his parents, Joseph B. Williams and Adadra B. (Ronnie) Neville, his wife Emily Williams; siblings, Kaitlyn Williams, Amber (Dustin) Horton, Tara Owens, Chase Morris, Jessa Williams, Zachary Neville and Tucker Neville; paternal grandparents, Pat and Kay Williams, maternal grandmother Linda Morris, maternal grandfather, Tim Benson, maternal great-grandmother, Jo Frazier and his uncle and Godfather, Chris Williams. (He is predeceased by his caring Godmother, Tristan Morris). Evan is additionally much missed and loved by his aunts, uncles and cousins with whom he was very close, and scores of friends.

Graveside funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m., Friday, November 18, 2016 in the Williams’ Family Cemetery, Springfield, with full military honors accorded. Dear family friend, Father Dave Whitman will preside.

Following the funeral there will be gathering of friends at Dome Farms. Flowers may be sent to the care of Folk Funeral Home in Williston. Inquire of the funeral home in regard to charitable donations in Evan’s memory.

A Celebration of Life Service for Bennie Marshall “Butch” Spell, 76, of Denmark, will be held at noon on Friday, November 18, 2016 at the Blackville First Baptist Church with the Reverend Ken Frederick and Dr. Thomas Terry officiating. Butch passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016.

Born in Bamberg County, he was the son of the late Bennie R. Spell and Virginia Poole Spell. He was a member of Blackville First Baptist Church and a former member of the Denmark Jaycees. Butch previously worked as the manager and general manager of Owensby Cadillac Buick of Aiken and various other locations selling cars. He was an avid farmer, fisherman and gardener. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served aboard the U. S. S. AJAX.

Survivors include his wife, Judith Mears Spell of the home; sons, Steve (Carol) Spell of Hilda, Shane (Joanie) Spell of Denmark, Stacy (Beverly) Spell of Rock Hill, Robert “Rob”  Whittle of Denmark; a daughter, Patsy Whittle of Healing Springs; grandchildren, Brandon (Rhonda) Spell, Ashley, Cody, Kyle, Logan, Luke Spell, Samantha and Sydney Whittle; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Frances (Doyle) Jones of Florence and a number of nieces and nephews.

Leroy Brabham - Allendale

Funeral services for Leroy Brabham, 91, of 205 Oakland Drive, Allendale, were held at noon on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Beulah Baptist Church with Reverend Pamela Richards officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mr. Leroy Brabham was born in Allendale on June 10, 1925 to the late Nathan Maner and the late Annie Lee Harris Capers.

He was educated in the public schools of Allendale County. Leroy was a member of Beulah Baptist Church until his health declined. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

He entered into eternal rest on November 10, 2016 at his residence.

Leroy was preceded in death by his wife, Winston Brabham; both parents; five brothers and four sisters.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories, his children: Tara Scofield of Wyoming, OH, Beonika Witherspoon of Greenville, Danyell Witherspoon of Greenville and Diane Smith of Fairfax; three step children: Shereka Harris, Shamar Harris, and Cordrea Harris, all of Greenville; a brother, Henry Harris of Syracuse, NY; a sister, Sarah Rouse of Stanford, FL; one aunt, Susan Henderson of Springfield, MA; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, cousins, and other loving relatives and caring friends.

Jimmie C. Delk - Beech Island

Jimmie C. Delk, 84, of Beech Island, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016 in Pruitt Health of North Augusta.

Jimmie was born in Barnwell County on August 20, 1932. He was a son of the late Eddie and Annie Brant Delk. He was a retired employee of the Columbia Nitrogen Plant and a member of the First Baptist Church of Beech Island. He enjoyed repairing TVs and other small appliances and he loved his Ford Truck. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, November 26, 2016 in the Friendship Baptist Church of Barnwell with Pastors Frank Hyder, Greg Williams and Marshall Still officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Dicks Delk of Beech Island; daughters, Theresa Delk of Wrens, Ga. and Pam (Richard) Posey of Barnwell; grandchildren, Josh (Lacey) Zorn, Jessica (Luke) Lucas, Rodney (Courtney) Zorn, Russell (Becca) Zorn, Ashley Shipley and Jennifer Shipley; seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Boyd, Jack and Marvin Delk; and sisters, Pauline Kinard and Maree Johnson.

Doris Carroll Deer - Ulmer

Doris Carroll Deer, 74, of Ulmer, the widow of Homer A. Deer Jr., died Wednesday, November 23, 2016.

Mrs. Deer was a native of Bamberg County and a daughter of the late Robert and Sallie C. Carroll. She was a retired seamstress, a homemaker, and a member of Great Saltkehatchie Baptist Church. “Nannie”, as she was known by her grandchildren, was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Graveside funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, November 25, 2016 in the Great Saltkehatchie Cemetery with the Reverend Marshall Still officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

Survivors include four daughters, Anita D. Tharin (Dan), Angela D. Guidry (Glenn), Wanda B. Whitworth (Jimmy), and Brenda B. Hair (Corey); four grandchildren, Danielle, Corey, Edward, and Judy; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Polly C. Brant; one brother, Paul Carroll (Linda); two step grandchildren and one step great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Frances Weathersby Kennedy Gleaton, 89, of Williston will be held 11 a.m. Friday, November 25, 2016 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, with Dr. Stephen Burnette officiating. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be in the Williston Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Frances passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016.

Born in Aiken County, she was a daughter of the late Edmond Wiley Weathersby and Vergie Cowart Weathersby. Frances was first married to the late Leon E. “Pete” Kennedy and was the widow of Daniel Gleaton. She was a member of Rosemary Baptist Church and previously worked as a seamstress and formerly worked at Shuron Industries.

Survivors include daughters, Linda Morris, Vickie (Jerry) Gleaton; sons, Leon (Debbie) Kennedy, Roy (Angie) Kennedy, Cecil (Elaine) Gleaton, Bill (Theresa) Gleaton; grandchildren, Layton Morris, Paula Roelle, Tammy Bolen, Ricky Morris, Eric and Travis Kennedy, Kurtis, Orry, Klayton, Kohl and Kyndal Kennedy, Daniel Rodgers Jr., Jeannie Price, Angela Brower, David Gleaton, Beth Gleaton, Alan Hammon, Billy Gleaton Jr., Joseph and Christopher Gleaton, Michael, Eddie and Bobby Rish and Angela Forsten; 31 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carrie Elizabeth Rish, a son-in-law, L. M. Morris; sisters, Judy Phillips, Ola Mae Gordon, Betty Owens and a brother, Carnell Weathersby.

Mrs. Emma Gibson Hutto Davis, 91, of Denmark, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at Longwood Plantation, Orangeburg.

Mrs. Davis was born in Denmark on January 17, 1925. She was a daughter of the late William Earl and Blanche Atteberry Gibson. She was first married to the late Laurie D. Hutto and then to the late N. Rhett Davis. She was a retired lunchroom supervisor with Denmark School District 2. She was a member of the Bethel Park United Methodist Church.

A celebration of the life of Mrs. Davis will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Bethel Park United Methodist Church with Rev. Terry Roof officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the hour of service at the church. L. T. Keenan - Williston

Funeral services for Leon Tony “L.T.” Keenan, 84, of Williston, will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, November 29, 2016 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston. Burial will be in the Mt. Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, Windsor. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be given in L. L. T. passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016.

Born in Aiken County, he was a son of the late Tony Keenan and Josephine Garvin Keenan. He was a member of Edisto Baptist Church and retired as a Senior Reactor Operator from E. I. DuPont at the Savannah River Site. In 1997, he was recognized as Williston Citizen of the Year; he was instrumental in organizing the Williston Rescue Squad and was a faithful volunteer from the mid 1970s to 2000. L. T. enjoyed riding his motorcycle, bird watching and had a love for all animals. L. T. had a deep love for his family and he enjoyed spending time with them; he will be missed beyond measure.

Survivors include his daughters, Rhonda Keenan Toole and her husband Dale of Barnwell, Lisa Keenan Massengale and her husband Robbie of Williston; sister, LaVerne Keenan Barnes Bonnette of Williston; grandchildren Nick, Jordan, Jared and Nathaniel Toole, Melissa M. (Nick) Owens, Zachary and Cameron Massengale; great-grandson, Parker Owens; a number of nieces and nephews and his dog peanut. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Wallis Keenan and Robert Frank “Bobby” Keenan.

Rev. William Henry Wright - Augusta, Ga.

Rev. William Henry Wright, age 66, of Augusta, Georgia, formerly of Allendale, was born on February 27, 1950 in Allendale County to Neomia Bush Wright and the late Reverend Robert Wright Sr.

He attended and graduated from the public school system in Allendale and was also an alumnus at Morris College in Sumter.

Rev. Wright was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Augusta, Ga. He worked as a painter for many years, and was the formal pastor of the Union Baptist Church in Augusta, Ga. for 20 years, and the present pastor of White Oak Grove Baptist Church in Thomson, Ga. for the past three years.

"Stretch”, as he was affectionately known, was a loving and kind person, and will be remembered for the love he had for his family, friends and the church. 

Besides his father, he is preceded in death by one sister, Catherine Wright Priester, and a number of aunts and uncles.

Our Heavenly Father saw fit to call him from labor to reward on November 17, 2016 at his home in Augusta Ga.

Cherishing his beautiful memory are four sons: Melvin Lofton of Allendale, Karl Housey of Daytona Beach, FL, Tony Cave of Barnwell, and Tarance Revell of Augusta, Ga.: one daughter, Sherise Revell of Augusta, Ga.; mother, Neomia Bush Wright of Barnwell; eighteen grandchildren; one great-grand; one step-grand; one brother, Robert (Peggy) Wright Jr. of Philadelphia, PA; one brother-in-law, Larry Priester of Allendale; five aunts, Dorothy Bush Ridley and Evelyn Bush Williamson of Barnwell, Lucille Miller of Aiken, Isabella Wright Sailor of Hartford, CT, and Alberta B. Bush of New York, NY; three uncles, Norris Bush and Pastor Freddie L. (Mary) Bush of Barnwell, and Donald (Mae) Bush of Bronx, NY; three nephews, Larry Nero (Juanita) Priester of Atlanta, Ga., Hasan K. Priester of Charlotte, NC, and Rodney Wright of Philadelphia, PA; a very special friend, Nancy Diggs of Augusta, Ga., and a host of  cousins, other extended family, and sympathizing friends.

The funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the Thankful Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Windsor with words of comfort by Pastor Freddie L. Bush. Burial followed in Barnwell Memorial Park in Barnwell.
