Ms. Susie Mae Barker, age 65, was born on November 25, 1951, in Allendale to the late James and Eva Nell Barker.
She received her education in the public school system of Allendale. She worked as a cook in the school cafeteria, at E.T. Barwick for four years and Burlington for four years.
Susie will be remembered for the love she had for her family and friends, and she will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Our Heavenly Father called her from labor to reward on September 26, 2017, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Augusta, Ga.
She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory: one son, Tony Barker of Allendale; four grandchildren, Kadisha Tianna Barker and Rakeem J. Barker of Rock Hill, Tyquan J. Barker of Columbia, and Jermaine J. Priester of Barnwell; one sister, Cathy Witherspoon (David) Platts of Allendale; one sister-in-law, Lillie Mae Barker of Kline; two aunts, Anna Dunbar and Mamie Dunbar of Allendale; three special nieces reared in the home, Sheila Barker of Allendale, Rakesha Barker of Ashville, N.C. and Jennifer Barker of Columbia; three special friends, Viola Kelly Harley, Willie Ruth Drayton and Mary Robinson, all of Allendale; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and sympathizing friends.
A Celebration of Life Service was held Sunday, October 1, 2017 at 2 p.m. at New Zion Baptist Church in Allendale with words of comfort provided by Pastor Johnny Bussey. Burial followed at Buzzard Roost Cemetery in Allendale.
B.F. Cave Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
